So i tried to get her on her belly, but she woke up soon after..
she is four months old on tuesday.. so yes, wishful thinking on my part.
But I snagged a decent shot of her wearing her Crowned Embellishment by Meg Fish.

So I have to write these feelings down before i head to bed.
Pippa is so lovely. She is my lovey.
disclaimer: I am not playing favorites here, I have loved Aiv's Aidan and Maive just the same. But i never wrote down all the love i feel and so I want to know at this late hour, because I hate that feeling of regret..
Sweet Pippa Genevieve.
Waking up to her in the morning.. the white in the room, the brightness, her lil pink lips, creamy smooth skin, long blonde eyelashes and lil sleepy but almost near wake time sighs. the grins, the bigger gummy grins she makes when she finally does peak open those baby blues and sees me....
I love how babies have to communicate at this age. They cannot talk/know language yet..
I love how when we make eye contact ( all the time ) She seriously casts this spell over me and i can't look away.. but how you look at each other, face to face, baby softness in your arms, and she can just look at you, and you can see she just loves you to pieces, not that you are just a food and comfort source, but a serious bond.
Waking up to her is like... a piece of heaven right there
i love that we are so close, i love to hold her all the time, carry her to and fro my little buddy... like she never left the womb, but here she is on the outside, even closer to my heart. I love that she loves to be close to me.
I love who when she gets super happy, she gets all wriggly like a puppy, wiggly and squirming, big happy eyes, big happy smiley gummy mouth, cheeks that look as though they could pop, and squeally "ah's" bursting out in her : " I am soooo crazy happy to see you my mommy" mode.

i love her so much, she is so special, gentle, sweet, happy, snuggly, just amazing pippa, i wish everyone could meet her, and feel the love I have.
I know I'm her mom, and maybe the only person capable of feeling this, but I do wish we could all feel it, you all could feel it,I think this love I have, it's so powerful i swear it could cure illnesses... here's a dose of baby girly love, pooof your cancer is gone like..
I have so much more to say... but the words arent coming like they were before i fried up the laptop! boo!! and my eyelids wont stay up..
kdis are up in 7n hours, and i am mommy to four, plus a golden retriver, and nurse to a very in pain hubby...
gotta get my rest and off to snuggle with my pippa G, we have the bed all to ourselves! :)

Three weeks ago..

My sweet little Pippa finally made her way into our world, a week early. My water broke, the rest is history.
She is sweet. so sweet, so tiny, gentle and quiet.
Blue eyes, strawberry blonde hair.. she sleeps way too much, you have no idea how much i wake up at night to check the monitor...
:)
I love life right now, i love cooking and doing dishes aside my husband.
More hugs, more laughter, more time together, no exhaustion, no work stress, no drama.
Spring is here.
There are vases of flowers in my kitchen.
No more back pain, and slew of other health issues... gone.
Just a beautiful baby girl, a bigger family, smaller house, and a whole lot of love filling us all up!

More precious with time..

even just a little ol' 18 months..
18 months or so ago we took a June trip to the Adirondack's for three days.
It rained a lot, but the kids were content for me, and Shawn got to do some mad awesome Fly fishing!
I've learned to step up and get something out of it for me when we go on these every so often to i booked a photo session with Rae Barnes.
Oh man Oh man, it was the first time shawn and myself had been in front of the camera like that, well i practice on him all the time, but you know, new person just met.. crazy rained in kids been confined all day..
she was just so awesome and sweet.
I got these photos out this afternoon to look through and re position in the little slide in cheapO album i have.
But really, I've learned how important it is to have them, the real thing, in your hand. NOT on a CD, or on your desktop or hardrive..
I think I'll stop offering the CD to my clients. Because really, they hardly print anything.. they keep them on CD's.. they get rathced or dusty, the walls are still naked.. the work and time I invested in them does not get the proper appreciation.
If you are going to pay to get your photos taken, get them printed people!
Plus I learned from Rae Barnes, because she was so awesome at emailing me and informing me educating me on some things to really take a step back and question how i was pricing myself valueing myself and really taking a look at what other people see..
I learned they just saw someone with cheap prices.
It kind of floored me, but hey we all learn.
We all have niches and talents and gifts..
a business owner, confident woman is not one that I am, but I am totally ok with what I am.. and i could list what I am here.. but i wont.. I just smile to myself.
It feels good to finally fit in my own two shoes! :)
BUT REALLY REALLY REALLY, i'll stop ranting (( so, sorry havent been sleeping and have sicky kids so i feel rushed )) I just love that in a little itme of 18 months here.. well, it feels a lot longer.. and looking through what Rae Captured that day, her talent, the time we had, the wetness, the phenominal job she does behind her camera and artistically on the comp. i am just still blown away, and blwon away at how much my three kids have changed in a year and a half.
These photos are a treasure that just keep on getting better and better with age.
I am inspired!!!

Kitchen Love part 2.

Today I am cleaning like a mad woman.. and it's soo sunny in the the house.. love it
but taking a break because well.. i feel like i have a charlie horse ( dunno if that's right or i've ever had one ) but yeah, my preggie belly feels like it's on fire.
so i'm in the kitchen and i have to get rid of my abundant amount of

Better Homes and Gardens
Martha Stewart and such magazines!
so i have this yellow thingy and i'm ripping out some inspirational articles and pictures, mostly have to do with kitchens and gardening!
Ug, and well, Aiva draws sooo many pictures for us. i just dont know what to do with them anymore! we have soooooo many!

I love the second photo, i think that would be an awesome kitchen island, and you could store some stools in the little middle gap!

the winter blahs..
so I'm blogging about my concern for myself.
You see it takes me about an hour to make breakfast on saturday & sundays.
I really like to make breakfast for my family, and they love it too, but I wonder if it takes me an hour, is that way to long?
Usually I make my hubby's fave which is like an egg sandwich:
-Buttered toasted Thomas's English muffins + slightly runny sunny side up egg with pepper + his fave cheese slices + bacon.
-pancakes and fried potatoes
-and sometimes scrambled eggs
-OJ and coffee..
i just realized we usually skip lunch on the weekend. wonder why?

The kids are really great and manage to color, get along and have fun at the kitchen table until everything is ready!!

Grew up around my dad, best friends were boys, and I just didnt allow myself to be girly.
At all.
Now at 27, I am. So am. I love easter with all the pastels and springyness..
i love that I have girly girls. Mostly the 6 year old.

No snow day. { A day in the life. }

The kids were bummed. I was bummed. I think Sadie was bummed.
The kids were hyper though, i had a headache, and Sadie.. no she wasnt bummed.
She just wanted to be played with.
I woke up with a headache, vision blurry, feeling constipated as usual, and just wanting so baaad to stuff myself back under the covers.
then the sink plugged up, and for 45 mins i plunged that sucker...

eww gross.. yeah.. plunging the sink felt like I was trying to go into preterm labor.
finally got it un plugged but not before the full sink emptied out..

I glanced out to see the dog playing tug of war with the christmas lights on the bushes ( nother waste of money ) and maive meandered in with a stench to inform me she didnt make in the toilet..
joy..
Then because we're out of oatmeal and cereal and eggs i decided to make pancakes for the kids, and hopefully get in a better mood..
but today.. today..
i keep dropping things, i'm hunched over, and i just feel so zapped.. thus this happened.
try 1.

I then gave up and gave them a plate full of apple sauce, fishy crackers, and mixed nuts.. and OJ. -- hey we had a two hour delay so they would be eating their lunch in 90 mins anyhooo..
by then. i was starting to have those thoughts creep in..
the ones that get me when i feel really exhausted and alone.
Like: "How am I going to do this in 11 weeks?"
How can I take care of a newborn again, how can i take care of Aiva, and Aidan and Maive-ah-saurus, care for Shawn and make sure Sadie isnt getting jipped.. keep this house organized, clean, neat and tidy..
how can i wake up at night every 2-3 hrs?
I started to cry and hid in the laundry room to compose myself.
This is exactly what i dont want to happen this year.
I dont want to be a baby. I want to be tough, energetic, i want to conquer life with a smile. i dont want to get down and depressed..
I dont want to have cry fests, and I am sick of this feeling of aloneness, that nobody knows I'm here but the " I want chalk-it milk! " people.
I went out and shoveled and the fresh air and excersize made me feel better.
I cooled down and told myself this is going to be a great day. It's my day and I can determine how it goes.. it's all in my hands.
then the plow came right when i got done.. figures..
but i came in and here I am. I will conquer the kitchen, the laundry and the white carpet. i will love my little almost three year old stubborn rebel fart nugget, Maive..

11 Step Program for those thinking of having kids

Lesson 1

1. Go to the grocery store.

2. Arrange to have your salary paid directly to their head office.

3. Go home.

4. Pick up the paper.

5. Read it for the last time.

Lesson 2

Before you finally go ahead and have children, find a couple who already are parents and berate them about their...

1. Methods of discipline.

2. Lack of patience.

3. Appallingly low tolerance levels.

4. Allowing their children to run wild.

5. Suggest ways in which they might improve their child's breastfeeding, sleep habits, toilet training, table manners, and overall behavior.

Enjoy it because it will be the last time in your life you will have all the answers.

Lesson 3

A really good way to discover how the nights might feel...

1. Get home from work and immediately begin walking around the living room from 5PM to 10PM carrying a wet bag weighing approximately 8-12 pounds, with a radio turned to static (or some other obnoxious sound) playing loudly. (Eat cold food with one hand for dinner)

2. At 10PM, put the bag gently down, set the alarm for midnight, and go to sleep.

3. Get up at 12 and walk around the living room again, with the bag, until 1AM.

4. Set the alarm for 3AM.

5. As you can't get back to sleep, get up at 2AM and make a drink and watch an infomercial.

6. Go to bed at 2:45AM.

7. Get up at 3AM when the alarm goes off.

8. Sing songs quietly in the dark until 4AM.

9. Get up. Make breakfast. Get ready for work and go to work (work hard and be productive)

Repeat steps 1-9 each night. Keep this up for 3-5 years. Look cheerful and together.

Lesson 4

Can you stand the mess children make? T o find out...

1. Smear peanut butter onto the sofa and jam onto the curtains.

2. Hide a piece of raw chicken behind the stereo and leave it there all summer.

3. Stick your fingers in the flower bed.

4. Then rub them on the clean walls.

5. Take your favorite book, photo album, etc. Wreck it.

6. Spill milk on your new pillows. Cover the stains with crayons. How does that look?

Lesson 5

Dressing small children is not as easy as it seems.

1. Buy an octopus and a small bag made out of loose mesh.

2. Attempt to put the octopus into the bag so that none of the arms hang out.

Time allowed for this - all morning.

Lesson 6

Forget the BMW and buy a mini-van. And don't think that you can leave it out in the driveway spotless and shining. Family cars don't look like that.

1. Buy a chocolate ice cream cone and put it in the glove compartment.

Leave it there.

2. Get a dime. Stick it in the CD player.

3. Take a family size package of chocolate cookies. Mash them into the back seat. Sprinkle cheerios all over the floor, then smash them with your foot.

4. Run a garden rake along both sides of the car.

Lesson 7

Go to the local grocery store. Take with you the closest thing you can find to a pre-school child. (A full-grown goat is an excellent choice). If you intend to have more than one child, then definitely take more than one goat. Buy your week's groceries without letting the goats out of your sight. Pay for everything the goat eats or destroys. Until you can easily accomplish this, do not even contemplate having children.

Lesson 8

1. Hollow out a melon.

2. Make a small hole in the side.

3. Suspend it from the ceiling and swing it from side to side.

4. Now get a bowl of soggy Cheerios and attempt to spoon them into the swaying melon by pretending to be an airplane.

5. Continue until half the Cheerios are gone.

6. Tip half into your lap. The other half, just throw up in the air.

You are now ready to feed a nine- month-old baby.

Lesson 9

Learn the names of every character from Sesame Street , Barney, Disney, the Teletubbies, and Pokemon. Watch nothing else on TV but PBS, the Disney channel or Noggin for at least five years. (I know, you're thinking What's 'Noggin'?) Exactly the point.

Lesson 10

Make a recording of Fran Drescher saying 'mommy' repeatedly. (Important: no more than a four second delay between each 'mommy'; occasional crescendo to the level of a supersonic jet is required). Play this tape in your car everywhere you go for the next four years. You are now ready to take a long trip with a toddler

Lesson 11

Start talking to an adult of your choice. Have someone else continually tug on your skirt hem, shirt- sleeve, or elbow while playing the 'mommy' tape made from Lesson 10 above. You are now ready to have a conversation with an adult while there is a child in the room.

This is all very tongue in cheek; anyone who is parent will say 'it's all worth it!' Share it with your friends, both those who do and don't have kids. I guarantee they'll get a chuckle out of it. Remember, a sense of humor is one of the most important things you'll need when you become a parent!

Well, I am sitting here. Bored. I missed the ball on timing tings today. Mondays are always rough like that, plus trying to get my 2 yr old back into "PAAAAHTEEEEE training!!"
We're sitting here in our winter coats, Aiv's and Aidan bus will be here in 20 minutes..
when they get home.. it's off to walmart. yay. walmart.
toilet paper, foods... no parking, ugly smelly rude people ( dont question me ) you know's true, and yes i'm in a mood.
I just hate our walmart... too big. too stuffed.. to crazy.
Hoping all three kiddies will be great for me, and that Pippa wont be kicking my bladder forcing me to relinquish my cart and take three kids " dont touch ANYTHING I MEAN IT! " to the most germ infested bathroom there is.
A lighter note: All of our snow is melted. on January 3, it's dry out ( it was muddy ) it's cold. drab. desaturated. grey/brown and deeeeeee-pressing!
So I am thinking of Summery thoughts. Here are some images from 2010, that i wish i could escape into, and appreciate looking at.

This Christmas made me realize that in 2011, we really have to slooow down!

..yeah i am not cut out for it, i am not talented at multitasking. in any way, which is why i burn things constantly in the kitchen.. me and woman hood don't play nice, soo... i flopped trying to start a business, and manage the money thing... ah. well.. i guess, i gave it my best shot, and at least i tried, i cant say i didn't, so what if i failed miserably.. at least i found out and wont go through life wondering what could have been..

I do feel heart broken over the whole thing..
i wanted to be a photographer since the ninth grade.
I am hoping that there will be more to this year than disciplining, dishes, and diapers..
but at least i wont have the stress of deadlines, divas and downloads! :)
it'll take a while to let it go.. let the dream die.. but i know sooner or later
i will be happier for it, my family will to, it wasn't really supplementing our income in
any way at all, so that's not a loss either..

deep breath.. :)

Maybe the good Lord will give me some new dream.. new contentment.
I am finally finally fine with letting the dream die.

I went to bed at 9:30 and here I am at 1am. wide awake.
with heartburn.
Do you know why?
I will tell you why,

I could NOT stop eating horseradish.
Horseradish. Like it was cookie dough ice cream.
I was making Billy burger's ( my dad used to make us these with chocolate milk shakes at least once a week ). It's like a grilled cheese sandwich ( very cheesey ) with ground sirloin patties.. he makes them ultra thin.. i have yet to figure out how...

and all the while making the burgs and home fries.. i kept shoveling bites of Horseradish down my trap.
Horseradish=1am heartburn... and i hate taking rolaids.. it's worse when you are woke up by your babies at 6am and your mouth taste likes rolaids ( cherry )

ah... well..

sorry.. i'll share soon, had to tease, shawn got me those boots i'm wearing and i'm trying to figure out if i wear them with my non jeggings, maternity pants tucked in, or just keep them out, i feel kind of goofy with them tucked in. they are ohhhh so warm. Curing my biggest complaint which is how cold my feet stay in this old house all winter.. "saaa-weeeetuh!!"

memories. of the utmost important kind.
This morning I was taken back 7+ years ago, when Shawn and I met, our love,
how it grew, blossomed. Shawn and Julie. Just us. New love.
Young'uns. Childless.
It's been a whirl win of 7 years of marriage..
I wouldn't take it back, change it, wish of anything different.
We've fought, oh have we had some fights, we're ridiculously stubborn, opposites, selfish and then some..we've been through flood(s), been to court with family, changed church families, waved good bye to friends, surviv(ing) being a one income family, living in an money pit of an old home. but we're positive and making memories!
We've birthed three little ones and one the way ( April '11) 4!! beautiful babies into the world.
A piece of him, a little piece of me.
One.. then two.. three and four.. gifts from God.
These are some photos of "love" notes, "uuuuuuuu-uuuuuu" that Shawn wrote to me in the beginning.
I save them in this little book that a necklace came in. ( from the dollar store 2002 )
The story behind the ring with the green jewel. Shawn got it out of one of those toy capsule vending machine thingies.. and jokingly he asked me to be his wife.

I giggled, a lot. my face turned red. i squinted. of course, i didn't have to answer.
You know how when you're younger well i was 19, but us girls you know how some of us think and get all giddy. Giddy because Hello? My favorite color is green, always has been!
You know how it goes with coincidences. Clearly we were meant for each other, uh duh!
I still have that ring, see?

These things just make me happy. The Notes, I love to get out and read every so often.
That time in my life was the first time that anyone every truly loved me. Needed me. and wanted to see our relationship grow beyond just dating. For real, someone loved me, and if you know me that growing up, that was and is a big deal!
Those notes prove and show the beginning of our love and how two people fell in love, and now are family of six. It's just a wonderful thing.
Just thought I would share. We are SO NOT perfect, but we have rough days, but we also enjoy a lot of wonderful days!

So Maive Alisabeth was 3 weeks old Valentines day 2008.
The night before, being a mother of newborn you are on "alert" and i woke up to Shawn stirring through our bedroom. I asked him what was that matter, the baby?
He told me no worries he wanted to check on her, and get something to drink.
I tried to get back to sleep but felt urgency to check on this little peanut

I came into her room to him bent over kissing her in her bassinet as she peacefully slept in the sweet pink light.
We got something to drink and he headed up to bed, I went back into check on her again ( you mom's know how that goes.. at least I do.. I always have to gaze upon that heavenly cuteness one laaast time, in hopes of it embedding itself clearly forever in my mind )
and there was this red box with white bow. right next to her..
My hubby was soo very sneaky that night.
I cried.
yeah, hormones, but mostly sweetness, appreciation, surprise and a little bit of guilt to. :)
He got me this.

I had sooo been wanting this for about two years. Saw it in an add from a catalog called

Oh man oh man!
When little Pippa comes in April, it will be complete ( not planned that way ) but so exciting!
I just love our love, my love, HIS love, their love. I love the love in our home.
Jesus knows me this I love. I'm thankful for the utmost prayers of my heart have been answered. So grateful. So worth it.

since I've last posted. Yikes! i am soooo sorry!!
so do you want an update? of course you do!
Well, we are expecting baby number 4 End of March early April.
Would you like to know what baby Gendron is?
yes of course, She's a girl.

Shawn chose the name and he picked Genevieve.
I really want to spell it with a J, and call her Jenna, but
he insists we keep it a G, so people will say or last name correctly.
It's not "Guh-end-RON" It's said like: "Jen-drin".
Aidan and Aiva are going to school together now.
Aidan loves it soo much and so far has been doing well.
Aiva is getting too big for me, all of a sudden she's interested, in love, boys
fashion, and she is six.
where did my little innocent little one go? She's a follower so the little girls she rides the bus home with, have taught her quite a bit..
yeah, I dont like it either.
We have a puppy. Sadie. She's a Golden Retriever. She's such a sweet heart.
Well, this is short but a start. I promise to blog again, and again, and make it

I have to tell you what a comfort it is having a child who is highly impressed by the smalled & simplest things!
Like finding a stick while exploring her big world with mom-mom.
Maive's reaction to things is quite comical and never what I anticipate.
We peered in a nest of baby purple finches and Maive's reaction to the baby was
"ewww". I think it was mutual for the baby bird.
It's so refreshing that spring is here and summer all too soon ahead of us! Big deep breath!

I have nothing important to say.
I havent been sick, but feeling so lousy and tire the past two days.
Today is alot better but still I can't stop yawning or get in "go-mode."
SOooo much laundry to fold, dishes to put away, and always I am mopping the floor 2-3 times a day.
My questions for you is, since we all feel this way now and then, " Besides coffee or energy drinks, what get's you going?"

I know I will be hitting up the vitamin store pretty soon since New York
is destined NOT to be sunny ever again, and we live in a cave pretty much.

The cold, dark days that are feeling quite "Groundhog Day-ish" are reeeeally gettin' to me.
My dad is having a quintuple bypass tomorrow so prayers would be appreciated.
Mom successfully had a quadruple bypass in August, and is still mending but doing wonderfully.

I am taking the time out to write this blog as fast as I can while my 5,4 and 20 month old are playing nice in their room
( yes we live in a two bedroom)
because someone will either not share, hit, take something from someone or need or want me.
I have a flood of message in my facebook inbox with questions yet to be answered, questions I never though
"I" would get asked, or know how to answer.
I am still learning to use my canon rebel xti in manual mode and I talk about my pointer finger spinning the wheel
to make the arrow move on the meter... that's how I explain things.
So, I have to tell you about the www.momtog.com
I have been addicted to it since September.
I shot my first wedding this past August 1, 2009.
Prior to that day my husband and myself argued about me buying a new camera to which I am not ready.
I did however buy myself a second body just incase, my first wedding was lovely but there was alot of behind the
scenes stress and drama, unrelated to me, but most of all it left me discouraged
as I had been asked repeatedly through the day; "THAT's,your camera." You don't LOOK like a professional!
"My dad has that camera.." stuff like that.
And yes as far as the looks go, I did feel like I was going to a funeral and will never wear black again!
But then one morning almost a month after my first experience of being a pro I read this blog
I especially love what DrewB wrote:
"having the most expensive camera with the most expensive lenses won’t make you a good photographer.
It’s only one part of the puzzle. You need to know how to use that equipment and have a good understanding of light.
Someone who has a Rebel camera body, the Canon 50 1.8, with a good knowledge of light and how to use their camera
will be able to take better pictures then someone who has no understanding of light and a 5D Mark II and 50 1.2."
I felt like a million bucks reading that, relieved, inspired and just the kick in the rear for me to keep going.
Since then, me and my rebel have done 9 families this Autumn, two more weddings and booked 4 weddings for 2010!
I have even had to tell a few people, not that I enjoyed it,
"NO"
only because of the lack of time in my life.
Yeah, I can't believe it either!
I have so much to learn about EVERYTHING,
computer wise, I don't even own Adobe Photoshop yet, internet, branding.
Definitely feels overwhelming but I know this is how it begins, and with Drew B's blog www.momtog.com
I have learned so much, and will continue to due to her sacrifice in time, love for photography and generosity
to share her knowledge and experiences with us!
It's a wonderful gift to be connected with someone across the country on another coast.
Who is pursuing photography, who is a fabulous mom and making it all work.
She's genuine, funny and lays it out to where we can connect and understand
the language of our cameras, and make better decisions.
Ok, the littlest is crying, the floors are dry and dry dishes need to be put away.
This is the day the blog has made let us rejoice and when we have the time blog in it.

The day has come.
I've been waiting for almost 10 years for the "right time".
For the first time as I pray and the good Lord leads, I finally know that it's the right time.
It seems silly too, for so long i've had this desire/dream, spent so many nights up with my mind racing with creativity ideas, aspirations. I know photography is not, rebuilding broken homes{in more ways than one}, feeding the poor, or leading someone to the Lord.
So I've always felt silly when someone tells me that the Lord places those in our heart,
perhaps he did, perhaps my photographey could help rebuild, feed and lead!
It doesnt seem like now would be, but the photography dream.love.passion has finally taken off, like a bunch of horses gone crazy and I am the desperate stage coach trying to regain control and speed but laughing all the way.
I never thought I'd book eight weddings in three weeks all based on one wedding my first wedding I shot on August 1, 2009.
I am a tad on the overwhelmed side.
Need to get this thing called a tax ID, DBA...
all this stuff that I dont know about and is going a little over my head.
Can't I just take priddy pictures?
It'll all fall into place though, I know.
I am going to work hard, possibly pick up a night job?
But, the husband is convicted that it would be for the wrong reasons, so we'll see.
I need to buy a pro camera. My Rebel has been oh so great for me, all this practicing.. its been through alot..
then after that comes a new computer.. this one is almost four years old
and really old, slow.
I am convinced that using Corel Paint Shop Pro will be good enough to get me through
along with Adobe Lightroom { love it! }
but I'll have to take the plunge and buy Photoshop too, and learn that too...
I mean, every successful photog out there has it right?
YIKES!
But for now, I'm taking pictures the next few months for a couple of weddings, and beaming...
I am happy.
No happier than I was when I got saved, got married, had three children when none were possible.
But this is just a new page, and a new happy.
HAHA!!!!

that was big for me to confess that..

SO today was muggy, like peeling kids off of me much as you peel a banana,
continually all day.
We had fun though, running through this home in our skivvies.
I wore out the kids from 8-10am, gave them snack and burnt 900 calories in one spinning session on this bike.
then i stretched.. lifted and stretched some more.. I think that totals up to 1,000!
Went to visit shawn for lunch, played and enjoyed the AC.
Came home and spent the afternoon relaxed and peaceful, yet..
I've been stressed..
Aiva turns 5 September seventh. Gotta plan something.
She also starts school..
Aidan will be going back for his preschool/speech in the mornings.
I have to get my teeth cleaned, and I am sure a few fillings.
I lost my glasses 14 months ago, gotta get new glasses.
This is all in avoidance to what is truly stressing me, but for now, i butterfly around, floating here and there with the dailies
avoiding the stressor until it will lay it self before me and i summersault trip over it!
no worries.
enjoy some creativity I pursued this afternoon while rehydrating and enjoying some quiet time, before the storm! 'o)
I am not sure if I like these or not.. I do and dont, i'll stop looking at them
trying to find something I dont like and you can let me know.. thinking about future stuff.

Through all the motions of their day, there is only a few parts
that keep replaying in my mind..
those moments that slow right down

I see him do this unbeknownst to her throughout the day.

HI friends!

it has been a muggy week, not too much sleep going on for me as of late!
But oh what fun we've had, and i havent been taking pictures, I've been giving myself a break!
{{Gasp}}
what? you ask.. yeah, everyone needs a little vaca from some things in life so me, i put my camera up on the
shelf and just relish in, oh maive's doing something cute, or sir-curls-alot has chocolate ice cream all over his chin,
guess we'll have to call him captain-curls-alot, ARG.. nope
i've been resisting the urge to grab and snap!
giving the old rebel a little siesta so she can work her some love and magic on saturday
when our friend Shawn and maria will be walking down that isle known as Mr. & Mrs. Shawn Leonard!
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWW!!!!! 'D
and my friend Theresa will be accompanying me on the trip, partner in crime photog!
SO excited we're going to have a blast!
I'm thinking, there will be 2 or three posts.. outtakes, goofyness.. you get the picture, and of course the gorgeous & handsome bride and groom!
So yes, some things I want to write down, about a quarter of them I already forgot!

1.) Maive you are so darn cute when you and Aidan play cars; Aidan is "VRUUUM, VROOOMING away, and then they're you are,
swinging your little arm to and fro saying "shooooz shooooz" I love it.
2.) Aiva has been asking alot of questions about GOD, Heaven, Jesus, praying and everything beyond.
It amazes me and I love it, however she is so young that I struggle a tad with explaing things in a simple form in which her little
loving heart can grasp.. I always end up pulling through, and she is
satisfied, dimpled and hugs me with a smile!

3.) Maivey says "Tank you, biss you { bless you} here you go and just so much more, she's just been exploding with words!
i love her little voice, atleast when she is not on the warpath screaming redheaded banshee.. She is getting really good at singing her favorite song.

4.) Aidan too, has been expressing himself and finding words with ease. I think I can finally say to you that his speech is really starting to "flow"?
He even starting singing " OH mr sun, sun, mr golden sun.. please shine down on me" the other day, and I was astounded because back in the summer '06
( he was nearly a year) until spring 07 Aiva and I were always singing this.
And we really havent... so when he started singing it out of the blue, it made me grin so big.
There he was sitting on the sidewalk swiping the chalk in his little Aidan world and busted out in song. Aiva of coursed recognized the
song and joined in responding with, "remember when we used to sing that mama?"
Why did we stop? I dont know.. I was wondering why too.. so now we are again.
well, i think it's all I am going to write now, gotta go do some reading and hopefully accomplish one chapter without falling asleep!
I love you, even if I dont know you, i want you to feel some love, so i'm sending some warm thoughts in internet energy love.

Boy, what a bunch of winners, eh?
Joking!
I was so happy to be able to get my brother's family, and my sister and her son and my family all together.
We had yummy marinated chicken, Dawn's potato salad, and Crystal brought corn on the cobb! It was so very yummy.
Shawn and I had spent the sunny day digging three more post holes for the fence and put two panels up, then we mowed and cleaned, and of course juggled the kids
. By the time everyone got here though, it started raining.
Bummer.
But we still had fun, the kids danced and played hide N seek.
and as you'll see I'm one of those horrible mom's that actually lets her kids jump
on the couch. call social services!
Come on people, it was raining out.. 6 kids? and we danced as you'll see..
you'll also see that my sister and I got some time to get some quick pictures,
across the street and I GOT SOAKED!

"Roseeta" will be making her monthly uninvited appearance very soon and I am so determined to just defy all that intales. I become the most miserable creature you could meet.
Stick me under the bridge and call me a troll.
I feel like just burrittoing myself up and going to bed for 5 days, I dont want to be talked to, I dont want to talk,
snuggle, dont touch me, and I am a horrible whiner if I do venture into social civilization.

OK so yeah, as you can tell I didnt have anything too important to write to you about, I'm just not tired, and anxious for that time of the month.
I HATE IT.
I just hate how i feel for like 12 days..

I just love the woods. and water.
I love how when you go for a hike, suddenly you feel like you could be the only one for miles, the world seems so clean and fresh and all
is right and well with it.
I am an odd one and I just feel so safe in the woods, and at home.
I know I probably shouldnt, with bear, mountain lion, coyotes and other creature
about, but that never worries me.
I just love how your canopied in, all these trees around you,
you stop look up and it's an unending sky of green leaves waving hello at you.
The sky peak-a-booing you here and there.
its like the largest roof you could have over your head. What are you chicken little,
"the sky is falling?" NO, it's not like that, maybe a little of my Ithacan roots.. maybe psychologically I feel shielded from pollution?
Well, anyways. I love the quiet time, and how close i can feel to God,
how much adoration wells up in my little beating heart.
The smell of the pines, trees, moist grown,
the crunching underfoot, the trickling sounds of the creek.
MMMMMmmm.. i think this is my happy place. I'll most likely be returning here in a few days, my escape and refreshment.

Thank you for making my children fountains of life

Just the other morning I caught myself looking
at my children just for the pure pleasure of it.

This Mosaic of life experiences.
We arent the perfect parents, we don't have a wonderful marriage.
We have issues with expectations, communications and we need encouragement still
as this season of parenting is still in the early stages.
This blog, may make us look all sunshiney and perfect, we are far from that.
We fight, we make up, and fight again about the same issues and new ones.
We yell at our children sometimes, we apologize, and do it again.
We've been known to feed the kids chocolate chip cookies for breakfast, and sometimes we forget to brush their teeth.
I burn dinner at least 12 times a month.
We try.
We cry.
We get down low.
We get up and brush it all off.
Start over.
And we are continually thankful for the sunrise each morning and the chance to do it all over again.
I am thankful for Maive's baby hoppy run, and her contagious baby mischeivious infectious giggle, and the way she combines the two while I chase her ( always ) and she's happily running away and turning to see where I am, giggling.
I am thankful for my kind hearted Aiva, always looking out for her sister and brother, lending a helping hand, tender hug.
I am thankful for Aidan, my snuggle buddy. You're so boney but you are perfect to snuggle with in the mornings. I love all the silly things you are doing this summer, especially; " I AM DRAGON.. RAWR!!!"
Thankful for my husband, for loving me even though I am a rebel and stubbornly stick my heels in. My accountability, my arms that hold me tight through dark clouds. I am so glad we all have each other to get through this chaotic at times life in pursuit of heaven.
Dear God,
Help me appreciate every season of mothering with new eyes that see life from the fresh perspective of my child.

small talk of the weather.

I am not complaining by any means, but hasn't this NY state weather been cool?
I remember alot of swimming and exhaustion from the heat in previous summers.
This summer we've only had 2 days so far of bathing suits and the hose/sprinkler.
Now, I am okay with this, i can cook my dinner and the house doesnt turn into an oven, we havent had any sleepless nights, just the ones with all the thunderstorms and that is totally okay with me! Love'm!!
The sun flooded in this morning and I woke up excited, however now 1 hour later at 9am it's gloomy dark and scary, looks like another day of sunshine one hour, thunderstorm the next, and me and the kids really confused on what to do! 'o)

I use the Canon Rebel XTI with the 28mm 1.8 lens and the 50mm. 1.8
I am just a wanna be photographer.
I love my life as the circus ring leader of this family, I enjoy taking and "priddying up" pictures and giving them as gifts.

To my kids it means.. hmm..

Yes, I Julie, Love this day, patriotism, hamburgers, red white and blue pinwheels, flags, summer food, kids playing and wonderful fireworks, kids laughing, sparklers...
I also think of Francis Scott Key writing the Star Spangled banner while imprisoned on a british ship the morning after witnessing the attack on Fort McHenry. Yes I am a history buff.. throughout the night the large flag that stood over Ft. McHenry was still there while rockets and explosions lit the sky. When all was quiet and Dawn crepted forth, there stood the flag still flying..
I think of 9/11
I think of Pilgrims, George Washington and the founding fathers.. I think of abolitionists, the civil war, and many many soldiers, who gave their lives, still living, and yet to embark..

Shawn & Maria: Future Mr. & Mrs. Leonard

Our friends, Shawn and Maria drove down from Ithaca to spend some time with us on Sunday.
I met Shawn ten years ago as we went to Dryden High together he was a senior and I was a freshman. He was a very kind and a great friend when I was going through one of the hardest times I've experience in my life so far! He graduated 1999 and was off to Germany. I lost track of him but every now and then have kept him in my prayers. Then, January 1st of this year I received a phone call around noon and it was him, telling me that he was getting married!
Most of you who know me, know that yes, I squealed.. ALOT!!
I probably blew out poor Shawn's ear drum!
I am so excited for them, I'm happy giddy and as I type this my knee is bouncing!!!
They are getting married Aug. 1st of this year and I am so very happy to tell you, they picked MEEEE!! to document their day photographically speaking!
AHHH!!
I cannot wait for this!
Maria is going to be so gorgeous and thinking of her on her wedding day I am already getting teary eyed! Weddings are so very special, oh jeez the waterworks!

I am back and dry!

Shawn just got baptized this morning, we were supposed to go, however I woke up with a nasty nasty migraine! GOOD news: I have been getting less of them ( YES! ) bad news: when I get them, they are so painful, puking and I have to take two Imitrex before the pain resides. I am so bummed we missed the baptism this morning but, I was there in thought and prayers and I promise you two, we'll make it up to ya! Aiva misses Maria and Shawn and keeps asking when they will be coming back to visit! She is quite taken! Maria is so very sweet, sensitive, and soft spoken! But, get this, she totally rocks the highest heels, and SHE DRIVES A MOTORCYCLE! HOT!!! I KNOW!!!
Ok, this was not a session, I am still working on convincing them to let me do a shoot for them pre-wedding, so I can make them a photo guestbook. Both of them are extremely shy of the camera and I will have to remedy this w/o being to pushy.. we all know Julie G is not pushy! 'o)

it's 10am, it's my birthday...
AND TODAY IS ALREADY THE BEST DAY!!
I woke up to Aidan's face 2 inches from mine.
His eyes wide and smiling, the bedroom was so bright with sunshine it actually gave me a insta-headache, but I still appreciated it. We snuggled, snuck downstairs, he bathed.. the girls slept in.
Aiva came down and told me she wanted to make me breakfast.
"You stay here.."
SO I did, wondering what she could possibly make, knowing she cant reach the cereal boxes, or touch the stove.
She came in with my favorite coffee mug, filled with water.
and someone had sneakily stashed OREO cookies..
She is my kind of woman!
Yes, it's my birthday, and I have ate 18 Oreo cookies this morning! I dont care, I'm already bloated...
It's going to be a beauty, we're going to leave and go pick flowers up in the field, and come home and arrange some bouquet throughout the house.
I think since it's my birthday, I might take advantage and by some balloons ( for the kids ) and stuff, and take some fun pictures of my most precious gifts later on!
who knows.. im happy, im healthy, roseeeetta has not made her appearance yet. LIFE IS GOOD!
Aidan keeps talking of his teachers, and school, but ive managed to keep on hugging him and snuggling him and picking him when he asks.. HE LOVES THEM SO MUCH!
He is not sad today, but, when cars go by he will randomly ask; "Is that _______'s car <----insert one of the 5 teacher's names there! 'o)

Aidan Graduated from First Friends Preschool, Horace Mann Elementary in Binghamton on Thursday June 18th!

These ladies were all such a blessing in our lives.
I really didnt like the idea when Aidan had to go to the program a year ago, I just felt like a failure, i didnt know what to expect and I was just an overprotective mother.
The teachers were beyond what I hoped and *prayed* for. They love Aidan, they're like his other mom's. We're going to miss them.. we already do! Best wishes to all of you, and we do hope you keep in touch!! 'o)

I feel you dude!
Today, I feel soo grumpy and tired. I am squinty bloaded and my cycle starts tomorrow.. on my birthday..
happy birthday to me..
I don't like this part of life. 3 weeks out of the month I'm happy and energetic and nothing can get me down, no migraines, i love life.
This week, the kids seem so loud, rambunctious and destructive. I hate doing dishes twice a day, sweeping the floors, mopping and folding unending piles of laundry.
I want to be like Mr. Toad and hide under a rock.

I feel you Mr. Toad
Maivey reached to pick him up but I freaked because well, Maive likes to squish things in her little hand. Mr toad is safe in our rock wall. Later I think I might go join him.
On a lighter note here are things about me

1. Speaking with a British accent in the morning helps me function, makes me feel smart and sophisticated, and okay.. Sexy, but also it makes Aiva laugh, she’s got great impersonations skills to.. We so dig JO JO from Supernanny.

2.I love deep conversations, ridiculous ones too. Ones where you’re laughing so hard-then you ask, what were we laughing about? Or even talking about for that matter?

3. I have this habit in the morning, I have to smell the scent of lemon before I can pursue the task at hand, which is why I have a lemony scented candle next to my bed.

4. I want to go back to school and become a pediatric nurse, or work with the babies in the NICU!

5. I daydreamed about my husband, then made a list about how I wanted him to look, what his personality would be like, and values,.. I always thought I wouldn’t get married until maybe my early 30’s, but Shawn walked in to my bible study 18 days later after praying over my list. As we walked up the steps into the house I said “NO WAAAY!” and everybody turned…. Yeah my face was red. But my heart was like whoa!

6. I worked for Abercrombie for a wee bit, and I used to get so annoyed with guys wanting to take you our or what not.. so i would pull my "Jesus Card" no disrespect to the J man but it worked..

7. I was born premature and sustained a spinal injury.

8. I wasn’t supposed to walk or ever have feeling below my waist. And I did and do

9. My eggs were fried from countless numbers of X-rays and other tests in an attempt for dr.’s to figure out what this mysterious spot was on my spine. I was told I’d never have kids. And I have THREE!!

10. I used to daydream of a little girl with long blond bouncing curls chasing butterflies and a little redhead with bibs and I hoped this dream would one day be real, even if it meant adopting. I even wrote about it one snowy afternoon on the computer at work… then I got pregnant with my oldest…. This past summer, I sat in our yard watching Aiva chase a little yellow butterfly, and Aidan sat next to me in bibs playing with his truck.. God totally tapped me on the shoulder and smiled in my heart…. And I cried remembering…
* I never dreamt of Maive, but I’m glad I didn’t, she was the best surprise… a newborn with a red Mohawk!

11. I wonder why God loves me so much… to give me all my hearts most desires, and no long waits…. Maybe it was those painful 15 yrs of childhood and still knowing there was something bigger out their watching over me…. Always… hoping..waiting.. trusting.. crying... There is a GOD, and is a blast!

12. I was Homecoming Queen too.. Just no dress or crown,…..damn it!

13. I collect old cameras

14. I twirl my hair or bounce my knee when nervous. And if I’m pondering something I hold my right hand on my right cheek. When I'm scared ( rollercoaster ) I sing That's Amore!

I have alot of freckles!
15. I love to travel, and love to drive fast…. ( w/o kids )

16 I cant afford Adobe Photo Shop, I use Corel Paint Shot and some software I downloaded 2 years ago off shutterfly.com
( but I do now have Adobe Lightroom.. Sooo, I’m moving up! )

17. Is bummed Aidan's school is done, he loves it and talks about it all the time, mostly the other women in his life, his teachers!

18. I actually really miss Montana our Border Collie….

19. My favorite place to be, is in the woods, winter, spring, summer or fall… mostly summer. I love to explore and god always sends me some cool happening, or little treasure.. He always has.

20. My husband and myself rededicated our lives to Christ recently!

21. I thought at 25 I would be a successful photographer living in London, or Boston with a huge studio apt. Huge windows and 2 Great Danes.. And I vowed to never marry….

22. I get excited when we add new books to our kids library and they’re 4 and under.. I cant help it, I love to teach and read…and we read alot in this home, so I get bored memorizing them all. Aiva cant read but she recites them all perfectly.

23. I eat really really unhealthy… it needs to chaaaange!! ( also I end alot of sentences with an operatic flare!)

24. I am not a morning person, but Aidan is slowly changing this..

25. I am grateful to be Shawn Gendron’s wife, and the mother to three healthy beauties, to live in a house* in the country*, have an abundance of food in our home, hot water, soft blankets and a whole lot of love flowing around to each other… this life is all I dreamt it to be, hoped for and is soo much more!

So today, was a little scary!
It started out fun. Maive and I had the house to ourselves last night and we both managed to sleep in until 8:30! Can you believe that???
I still can't!!
We hopped in the car with a bag full of pancake mix, sausage, eggs, bacon, syrup and other breakfast goods and made our way down to Brandon's cottage.
I made breakfast and then had Shawn and Uncle Brandon go out to fish in the kyaks in the rain.
We left around 1pm and on the way home it poured and poured.
All the way up intil 3:30 it did not let up!
We check our creek and it was roaring.. seriously, that's what it sounded like!
I took some shots and it made me soo very sick to my stomach, mostly the smell... the air just stunk! And it brought back memories.
Nov. 16, 2006
Aiva & Aidan were sick! Aiv's just turned 2 and Aidan 1.
All day long they were miserable and I had my hands full. So full that I didnt even notice all the rain that came down allll daaaaaaaay loooong!
I finally got them down for a nap around 5ish and plopped myself down for a deep breath. I too was coming down with something.
Then I heard water....
I got up and looked out to see a river of coffee colored water instead of my front yard, and Pierce Creek Road.
I opened up the window to get a better look, and it smelled soo very bed. I didnt know from what yet, and I panicked thinking about what if something could explode, I remembered the house I saw on the local news floating down the Susquehanna...
I'm not going to go into the rest, but we did get "rescued" via a large construction/farm type machine/vehicle. We slept up at the Hart residence. here are some photos.

Ironically we put on Winnie the Pooh, and the episode is where the Hundred Acre wood gets flooded.. "AND the rain rain rain came down down down.."
I was traumatized!
Here are some shots from today, Shawn and I were on high alert. Our home is between two bridges, when it flooded in Nov. '06 it was because of debris and two root balls/trees clogging the pipe underneath the road. The water just built up and up until it overflowed our way, taking with it neighbors propane,gas,fuel tanks, wheelborrows, furniture, beagles..
The DEC thankfully later that spring came in and took away all our contaminated soil.
All winter long Aiva would comment when we had puddles.. "rainbows mommmy!"
We had our well fixed immediately as it was contaminated! I'm thankful we also had the garage to block us from the tanks and such.
So yeah, us, and the neighbors were a little panicked, we had walkie talkies and the works! But, God answers prayers and the rain had toned down, not stopped, but at 6pm tonight the water level thankfully was down about 2 feet from what you'll see in the pictures I took around 3:45ish.

Some pictures from the Adirondacks,from my passenger side window.
It was a short visit, I enjoyed walking around Mirror Lake, when it was not
raining and the kids liked sitting in the stroller and Aiva picked wild flowers while we walked. The air was so refreshing as well, the breeze was always cool and smelled of pine & mint, it seemed as if you could just drink it all in! Anyways, I didnt have a chance to "play photographer" or get great shots, i missed an awesome sunset, it rained so much they closed down the road because of minor flooding, so there is a shot from the parking lot. Shawn did some much needed fly-fishing, like I said the kids and I walked, and when we weren't walking, we hung out in their room and read stories. The best ( and fleeting ) time I had was when we met up with Rae Barnes for our first family photo shoot. I am so happy with the 10 pictures she put up on her blog,( in two days from the session ) How fast was that!?? WOW! I'm off. busy busy busy.. when will it break. Maivey is teething and has spent a lot of time being comforted by mom, unfortunately for me, that makes me immobile for long periods of time, like limbs fall asleep pins and needle time, but its ok, i love that she wants me for once because in her red headed 18 month old mode she never wants me around her, always getting into something, anti snuggling, I will take what i can get!

WE DID TAKE A BREAK FROM BEING MISERABLE THOUGH WHEN WE WERE SUPRISED TO SEE OUR FAMILY PICTURES UP ON RAE BARNES PHOTOGRAPHY BLOG! THAT TALENTED WOMAN, I'VE ALREADY HAD A FEW PHONE CALLS ASKING ME ABOUT HER AND IS SHE WOULD BE A CONSIDERATION FOR THEIR DAUGHTER'S WEDDING, OF FAMILY... 'O) MAIVE LOVED SITTING AT THE COMPUTER AS WE SCROLLED UP AND DOWN, SQUEALING AND GIGGLING { MOSTLEY ME } AT OUR FAMILY PICS.. I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE THEM!

The kids did soo very well on the trip, Maive only cried once when she slurrped some juice in which a drip went in her eye and stung! Aiva only went potty once, and shawn had some travel suprises up his sleeve! 5 hours in the car actually went by pretty fast thanks to a fun family, sunshine, fun music..

Oh i wanted to eat here so bad, everytime we went by it, at night it was all lit up, and modern.. I gave shawn the eyes..

and the eyes didnt work.. see?

I have to remind you, my daughter adores me, and I her....

This is me {happy} on the way to meet with Rae Barnes! and that the heavens were taking a break on all the water works! { i always have mascara chunks in the corner of my eyes...

cloudyness was abundant, which is okay because minus shawn we are all fair skinned and burn easily.

The G5 will be loading in the 4Runner 7 hours from now, so I am off to get catch some ZZZZZZZZZ's! We're headed to Lake Placid. We're all packed, I'm going to take a ton of photos! wow, we've been working so hard this week, physically im exhausted, my body is screaming at me! yeah, i need to get in shape. We've been working on lots of projects, outdoors, the house, catching up with friends, making new ones! ok, to bed! I'll miss you all.. I'll be "unplugged" for 4 days! Wish us safe travels, awesome funny, lovey memories! Thank you.

Aidan has his graduation on thursday. I AM A SAD MOM.
Today was Saturday and he kept asking this morning, "we go to school mom?"
tonight as he hopped in bed, all excited, he told me, " tomowwwhao, we go to school okay?" after we get back from Lake Placid, he'll have one day, then the next is graduation.. expect a motherload of pics, thats is if i can see through the viewfinder from watery eyes!

My heart is just filled with so many things of love, i feel like i could explode!
Shawn's off taking Bob, our company for the weekend and a mail carrier friend, leader of tuesday night's bible study for men to work, aaaand.. when shawn get's back this morning HIS VACATION OFFICIALLY BEGINS! I love it! from today until sunday june 21 he will be allll mine! jk, he will be home to enjoy.
The sun is shining crazy bright in the house, with a really warm orange fuzzy glow. The phone rang at 6:40am and it was home depot's delivery driver on route to deliver our fence ( fiiiiiiiiiinallly, haleighlujah! ) at 8:00- 8:30!
So glad to be finally putting a fence up!
The birds are wild out there this morning! And I hear Aidan dude tip toeing down the stairs, so.. maybe ill snuggle with him in the golden light, and it will be beautiful!
After that, I'm off to do my work out, and hop in the shower!
To my husband:

Lisa & Justin are amazing new parents, Jana is two weeks old here ( Sunday May 31 ) and they are just so used to her tinyness. Lisa is doing wonderful, although exhausted as expected she told me she is feeling great, and she definitley was alot chipper than I was at that time, phew.

Maive carries "doggie" around every now, its her new fav. "Dawwwwwgggiee" { and yes Maive elongates everything she says, and in an awwe sort of way} is a bubble blower, minus the bubble liquid.. yeah that'd be messy! We've gotta get this girl a dog, she freaks whenever any one walks by, and hugs every dog she see's no matter what size!

Also, tonight is Scoots first night sleeping with Aiva and Aidan in their room. We only have a two bedroom home and it was time for Maive to move in. So far so good, she cried a bout 10 minutes but after reassurance, and a "ba-ba" she was out for the count! Now, if I could just get my husband to stop sprawling out and pushing me off the bed, or more importantly to stop SNOOORING, life would be a sweet dream!
Oh, and my hooty owl is out on the hill, "who who whoooooing"... I love it!
Home Depot called today, and our fence is being delivered Monday! HOOOOT! 'o)

My Aiva.
You know those tent worms..
she loves those, and they are abundant this season. she roams around our yard and collects them...ALL... She worries that Aidan will step on one, a bird will eat one, or Maive, loves as well to pick them up and carry them around with her. She just holds on a little tooo tight.. gross.. I KNOW!
I'm all, "What is that in her hand?"
She smushes bugs with rocks, and even has reached for a spider, to my horrific scream she thankfully paused like a statue... for once.
Aiva has been a delightful help to me lately and I havent even asked her to be.
She just cares for her brother and sister when needed, picks up after herself and the other two, she shares her food, drink and other things when asked, and when not asked.
She is just soo very sweet. nurturing. genuine. merciful. and bright eyed.

I've been struggling with sinus issues, monthly issues, a pulled muscle in my neck and shoulder issues, and other ones as well. There are moments during the day, i just stop moving, retrieve to the couch and just lay down. It's quiet, and then i hear her pant legs coming toward me, whip whip whip.. she turns the corner entering the room with an extra bed comforter, heaves it up on the couch, and carefully and lovingly makes sure I am burritoed in. She kisses my forehead, my cheek and with her face very close to mine whispers; " You feel better okay mama, is there anything else I can get for you?" as she is patting my shoulder. "Can you Shnuggle with me?" I ask.. "sure mom, that sounds perfect" she replies.
she deals with Maive pulling her hair, with Aidan sometimes destroying her set up in the doll house. her freshly made bed { her daddy taught her well }
She patiently waits her turn, uses manners that would put Diana Barry to shame.

We get to have an afternoon adventure together as the red's sleep. This isnt very often, and I think that's why when we get this time together it is all the more special.

Aiva Sophia has a very blessed imagination. She tells the most interesting and detailed stories that just flow and really get me back to my childhood. Aiva is alot like me in this since, and while we are making memories in this, and I'm being delightfully entertained through this, it's so cool to get taken back in time, and play with my daughter, doing the same things I did as a little girl. Sometimes it feels like we're sisters, or I'm not mommy, but a dear true friend. I love how she comes up and grabs my hand, turns and takes me along on an adventure.

off we go, weaving through jungles of sweet flowers, in search of lady bugs in peril, butterflies to giggle and dance with, we havent had a search party for fairies yet. She is one, so why search?

Aiva not only is my first born and our daughter, but she is my best friend, my little helper.. I find comfort in her small arms, inspiration in her tender gentle kisses on the cheek. She fills my cup up, and brings so much delight, color, and adventure to my life.

I adore my almost 5 year old. I'm sad she's almost 5 and although I know where all the time went.. I am just sad that it is so fleeting! Tonight Aiva has her dance rehearsal. I will be sure to take pictures, the recital is Sunday, and there are no cameras, camcorders allowed fuuuuweee! Aiva is so excited for this, I'll be sure to get photos so check back!
